About

I am a recent graduate with my masters degree in Integrative Biology from Oklahoma State University.  My research focuses on the potential role of vacant urban lots for biodiversity conservation.  Additionally I am interested in developing an informal science learning environment in which local stakeholders design and implement conservation research.

The natural world has been, and continues to be an important part of my life. I have actively pursued travel opportunities, driven by my interest in the natural environment. My travels have taken me to five continents, including experiences in the Galapagos Islands, South Africa, Germany, Honduras, coast to coast within the United States, and back to Australia.

Between my academic studies and travels, I became invested in not just protecting the natural world, but also the people who depend on it.  I hope to combine my knowledge of ecology and economics to develop sustainable conservation initiatives that balance environmental concerns with human needs.
